Universe returns to Evil Geniuses, Should I join the Open Qualifier for TI6?

Interesting news comes from the famous Dota 2 team, namely the winner of The International 5 Evil Geniuses and the Shanghai Major champion Team Secret. Two days after dropping out of the Manila Major they made a big change to the roster. Saahil “Universe” Arora choosing to leave Secret, some rumors say he will join EG and reform the IT 5 champion roster which had undergone a reshuffle in the last one year.

Additionally in a post on the Reddit forum a person claiming to be in the Manila Major said he had received word from commentators. Bruno Carlucci that the North American team will issue Kurtis ‘Aui_2000’ Ling with Ludwig “zai” Wahlberg as a replacement. Posts from the same people accurately reported Universe news before the official announcement from the team.

Should Evil Geniuses Participate in The International 2016 Open Qualifier?

Valve’s rules clearly state that changing the roster of locked players who are not part of the active list or substitute players, the team will lose their Direct Invite or Regional Invite rations for the next event, which means they have to take part in the Open Qualifier with 1024 other teams.

However the return of Universe at EG saw the re-establishment of the TI5 championship roster allowing Valve to consider and make an exception for the reigning champions, provided that rumors of Zai’s entry have replaced. Aui_2000 not true. Let’s keep abreast of developments
