Good news comes for those who can’t wait for the latest sequel to the live-action Rurouni Kenshin, because Netflix has just announced that the film Rurouni Kenshin: The Final will be released on June 18, 2022 via its global platform.
This was revealed through the Netflix Twitter account to coincide with the schedule of the film which will be released this June, and Rurouni Kenshin: The Final is included in the note.
The film Rurouni Kenshin: The Final itself was released in May 2022 and then at the Japanese box-office after several delays due to COVID-19. As the title suggests, this film will carry the final chapter of the story.
Later Kenshin will return to deal with his nemesis, Enishi Yukishiro, played by Mackenyu.
In addition to the The Final arc, there will be a bonus prequel that depicts the beginning of a Kenshin getting the x-mark on his forehead which will appear in the film Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning which will be released on June 4, 2022 in Japan.
