Hollywood Hammers Disband Their Overwatch Roster!

Hollywood Hammers add to the list of growing teams that have left the competitive scene of Overwatch, right today the Hollywood Hammers announced the dissolution of their roster.

Looking back in May, the Hammers announced that they would be fielding a team at the TCL Chinese Theater, a Los Angeles-based headquarters, with their Overwatch roster being one of them. However, the roster team known as The Chavs failed to qualify for Season Zero of Overwatch Contenders.

The Hammers are one of many teams that have opted out of the competitive Overwatch scene.

“We also want to emphasize that the Hammers team remains interested in being in the competitive Overwatch scene and we will continue to monitor developments.” said the press release. “Stay tuned for the latest news and updates on our website and social media.”

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Immortals CEO Noah Whinston had bought a place in Los Angeles for the inaugural season of the Overwatch League, so the Hammers’ move should come as no surprise.

Hollywood Hammers and several other teams such as Evil Geniuses, Ninjas in Pajamas, Splyce, Team Dignitas, Fnatic, compLexity, and others prefer to leave the Overwatch scene for various reasons.
